In honor of Rufino Tamayo's career: Intervened Watermelons, art in motion
In honor of Rufino Tamayo 's career, cultural promoter Nancy Mayagoitia conceived the creation of fiberglass figures in the shape of the iconic Tamayo watermelon, which have subsequently been intervened by different artists. For the edition held in Jalisco, Galería Trieste de Cristina Ojeda and Nancy Mayagoitia commissioned Art21Studio to create 11 watermelons, plus their steel bases.
