Lilian Fernandez

Lilian Fernández is an artist from Havana, Cuba, who studied at the National School of Art in the 1970s. She migrated to Mexico in 2002. The following year she stayed at Art21Studio painting several medium-sized works in oil on canvas and experimenting with polymer works. In 2008 she opened a gallery in the art district in Miami.


Her work is neo-figurative, occasionally turning to abstraction. Her colours migrate from intense to sober, depending on the subject she decides to address. Lilian analyses family relationships and her daily experiences.
