The creation of a series of conceptual works by visual artist Javier Pulido involves a technical and creative process distinguished by precise intervention on the wooden handles of various tools, such as hammers and axes of different sizes.
The engraving of texts and phrases on the handles is carried out using advanced technology, specifically a CNC router, allowing flawless and uniform execution of the messages the artist wishes to imprint on each tool. This method ensures fidelity in the reproduction of typefaces and the aesthetic integration of the texts with the tool's form and function. In some cases, to protect and enhance the finish, the engraved text is subsequently encapsulated with transparent resin, which not only preserves the message but also adds an extra level of durability and visual sophistication.
These works, conceived as peripheral pieces, are usually displayed in Javier Pulido's exhibitions, complementing and enriching the main discourse of his pictorial and sculptural production. The presence of engraved texts on everyday tools generates a conceptual reflection that engages the viewer, reinforcing the overall message of the exhibition and broadening the expressive scope of the artistic proposal.
